About Lacy Bird

An ecosystem for florists

since 2012

Founded by Sofia Veiber in 2012, Lacy Bird is an international ecosystem for florists: Lacy Bird Academy online and masterclasses around the world, the Florist Circles community, a free flower encyclopedia and tools in 13 languages — and its own flower delivery studios, where the method is practised every day.

Our story

From one studio

to a global academy

Lacy Bird began in 2012 as a floral design studio and has grown into an international ecosystem for florists. Lacy Bird Academy teaches modern floral design online in English, Spanish and Russian and through live masterclasses around the world; Florist Circles connects florists for learning, feedback and live sessions; the Lacy Bird encyclopedia and tools give every florist free, structured knowledge in 13 languages. Our own delivery studios keep the method honest: soft palettes, generous shapes and the commercial discipline of daily work. Since launching the Academy in 2016 we have taught more than 12,000 florists.

To give florists everywhere the knowledge, tools and community to grow — and to raise the standard of modern floristry worldwide.

12,000+ florists trained, Lacy Bird Academy online and masterclasses around the world, the Florist Circles community and a free flower encyclopedia in 13 languages.

What we believe

Four principles

behind every course, bouquet, and workshop

Commercial before decorative

We teach floristry the way working studios actually run it — pricing, timing, seasonal supply, and the discipline behind an aesthetic. Beautiful is table stakes; a bouquet has to sell, ship, and last.

A recognisable house style

Modern floral design is not a trend we follow — it is the language we shaped. Soft palettes, generous shapes, restrained details. Our alumni take that language and make it their own.

Taught by working florists

Every teacher at the academy is a working practitioner — running deliveries, weddings, and events alongside their teaching. No permanent classroom theorists.

Global, in three languages

Programmes are delivered in English, Spanish, and Russian across our three permanent academies and touring masterclasses. One curriculum, adapted to local supply and taste.
